BACK-TO-SCHOOL CAMPAIGN: Give every child a dignified start to the school year!
What if a well-stocked pencil case could open the door to a brighter future?
In Belgium, nearly 14% of children aged 0 to 15 experience material deprivation specific to their needs (SILC Survey 2024, Statbel). Some children begin the school year without a pencil case, notebooks, or basic supplies. School should be a springboard, but without supplies, it becomes a daily struggle for these children.
This year, we need to support nearly 4,000 children whose families are facing increasing hardship and are assisted by the Restos du Cœur. Each kit is tailored to the child’s age and educational needs:
Pencil, eraser, four-colour biro, writing pad, pencil case, ruler, set square, compass, dividers, fountain pen, scissors, ink eraser, ink cartridges, glue stick, colouring pencils, labels, highlighters, calculator, pencil sharpener.
Your act of solidarity will help a child find their place in the classroom again, ease the financial burden on a parent, and open the door to a future, however modest.
A pencil may not change the world, but it can change a life. Thank you!
